Tokyo Ghoul, Tokyo Ghoul √A, Kaneki Ken
I led me by the hand, as if to fill the niches in the memories in my oozing brain fluid. Without even a destination, we kept walking. Disgusting clouds were floating in the sky. I already know what will happen to me the next time I wake up.

SPOILER ALERT!

Kaneki's whole introspective moment he has after being defeated by Arima. Coming to terms with his old self (leading his younger, black haired self by the hand) and acknowledging that his new self has been equally flawed. For me this signifies the end of his character arc in TG and the beginning of his new one in :re.

But it won't be over. His new self would last long enough for him to think it's all over. And then, suddenly, his memories will slowly come back. Making him unstable.

Of course his memories will come back and he'll relapse, but that revelation kinda thing he had in the end? I think he'll remember it which will prevent him from completely reverting to his former self. I think he will remember his goal and address it in a more mature/acceptable way. (since he can now see things from both, the humans' and the ghouls' point of view) Otherwise there would be no point - he'd just get fucked by Arima again. Isn't that what the presence of black in his all white hair signifies?

The presence of black in his white hair is because after loosing his memories, he was living a calm life. But soon after the memories come back, i dont really know how they will, things will change again. But those years spent in CCG, being the best in CCG, he will be on other level, maybe stronger than Arima. Well, we can only guess actually.
